Offshore Athlete runs this website and is responsible for the details you share here, and it only collects what it needs to tell you about the guide and reply to your times check. When you join the launch list, it collects your name, your email address, your sport, the year you'd start in the US, the date you signed up and the country your internet connection is in, which the website works out automatically. When you email for a free times check, it receives whatever you choose to include, such as your name, country, whether you're male or female, your events and times, your grades and the schools you're considering. These details are used to email you when the guide launches and about the guide after that, to run the free-copy draw and email the winners, to reply to your times check with an honest read on your options, and to understand in general terms which sports and countries people are coming from. You choose to share them, and you can change your mind at any time. Your details are never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing, and nothing is passed to recruiting services, coaches or colleges unless you ask for that yourself. A few services help run the site and only handle your details to provide that service: Cloudflare hosts the website and stores the launch list, Lemon Squeezy may be used to send launch emails and sell the guide, an email provider delivers messages sent to [email protected], and Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads. Some of these services store information outside your country. The website doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking tools to follow you around the internet. Launch list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for them to be deleted, and times check emails are kept for up to 12 months so a follow-up question still makes sense, then deleted. Many athletes thinking about US college sport are still at school, so if you're under 16, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up or send your times, and parents can email to see or delete their child's details at any time. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, ask to see, correct or delete the details held about you by emailing [email protected], and complain to the data protection authority where you live if you're unhappy with how your details have been handled, which in South Africa is the Information Regulator and in the UK is the Information Commissioner's Office. If anything on this page changes, the date at the top will change too.
Free-copy draw terms
Five people on the launch list will get An International Athlete's Honest Guide to US College Sports free, as a digital download. To enter, join the launch list on theoffshoreathlete.com; that's your entry, it's free, and you don't need to buy anything, follow any account or share anything. There's one entry per email address, so signing up again with the same address updates your details but doesn't add another entry, and entries close at 23:59 UTC on 31 October 2026. Anyone, anywhere can enter unless entering a free draw isn't allowed where they live, anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian's permission to enter, and anyone involved in running Offshore Athlete can't enter. After entries close, five winners are picked at random from every valid entry and emailed a code when the guide goes live on 1 November 2026. If a winner's email doesn't arrive, or the code isn't used within 30 days, another winner may be picked at random. The prize can't be swapped for cash or anything else and can't be transferred to someone else, and winners' names are never published without their permission. Entries that are automated, fake or break these terms don't count, and if something outside Offshore Athlete's control stops the draw running as described, it may be changed or cancelled and this page will be updated. The draw isn't run, sponsored or endorsed by Instagram, TikTok, the NCAA or any college or university. Everything on Offshore Athlete is based on personal experience and isn't legal, financial or immigration advice, and questions about the draw or your details go to [email protected].
